Where in the world are you located?

I CURRENTLY reside in a growing city called Greensboro, North Carolina. Aka "The Gate City". It gets its name THE GATE because it it is a corridor between north, south and west. Our highway system has a junction to where you have to pass through in order to get to other states. I call it THE GATE CITY because if your not careful the city will box you in, leaving you Unable to escape the life it creates for you.

What was your favorite past time when you were young?

My favorite past time was definitely soccer when I was younger. I learned the skill set and technical aspects at an early age and instantly fell in love with the sport. Soccer taught me discipline in the sense of teamwork, yet highlighted a players individual attributes. It allowed me to develop comradary for a common goal but didn't take away the fact that as an individual I could single handedly control things. What a sport.

What was the very first CD you remember acquiring as a kid?

I'd have to thank my older adoptive siblings for for my early musical pallete. They paved a way for me to hear music at an early age I'd probably never hear until later in life. For example "illmatic" "Its Dark and hell is hot" "life and times of Sean carter vol2" hell even DESTINY'S CHILD "Writings on the wall" (my favorite). Albums such as these payed the foundation for the artist I am today. Period.

What was the first concert or performance you ever attended?

The first concert I attended was later on in my musical development like around the age of 15. Greensboro's local radio station would put on a concert every year called "Super Jam" which has seen the like of anywhere from Jay Z to Young Jeezy. The atmosphere was electric and vibes were beyond amazing. That was experience I will never forget as long as there is air to inhale. I didn't really take it in at the time....but seeing some of my favorite artist represent the way they did in my home town actually let me know there things attainable other than a "Regular Life". That there more to life than what school teaches you.

At what age did you begin to take music seriously?

I'd always write down old Nas lyrics and claim them as my own in the 7th grade. I never started taking it seriously till I hit high school. Poetry was the first love, but I kept it a secret... feeling like it was lame. But it was outlet given all the hard ship and changes I was enduring at the time. Music has always been apart of me but this seductive mistress really gained hold of me when I was 22 yrs old. That was when the shell of doubt was broken and formed "Current Event".

If you had the chance to play one of your pieces to the ENTIRE world, what song would you choose?

Tough but fair question. When your constantly creating music that reaches people it gets rough pinpointing one specific song or selection. If it were up to me I would choose a song I have called "THE WAKE UP". I choose this because I feel it accents key components of an HIPHOP artist. Imagery, storytelling, wordplay, lyrics, technique etc. I feel you could close your eyes and have the dream most aspiring musicians have had at some point or another.

Where did you find the inspiration for this particular track and what is the meaning behind the song?

This was a dream I had verbatim. Every lyric is intertwined step by step in sequence. I still kick myself to this very moment just thinking about it. I couldn't even call it a lucid dream Cus I wasn't in control....yet destiny was. I would say the meaning behind it is "It could happen to anyone". And that opportunity knocks at every ones door step..... it's just about how you answer the door.

What do you think about the state of the music industry today and how would you like to see it change?

I used to get caught up in the state of the music industry so much to where it drove me crazy. What I learned is that music industry is like the government... it won't change unless it's internal. Long story short it sucks. But it is an industry none the less, either get down or lay down. The only I would like to see change in the music industry is better opportunities for the starving artist that deserve a real shot. And deregulation of radio in all genres of music.

What is one issue in the world that you would like to see change in your lifetime?

STOP MAKING STUPID PEOPLE FAMOUS!!!! Lol but nah seriously I could exact one world issue that needs change it would be hunger. Hunger of our children and less fortunate. There's entirely too many resources being wasted on the wrong things not to have at least EVERY HUMAN with the nourishment they need to be apart of this planet. Point blank. Nothing more to say.

What current projects are buzzing and what future projects do we have to look forward to from you?

It's difficult to bring up future projects at the moment. Honestly none have came to fruition in the manner I've hoped. But my saving grace is my album called "The Maturation" which has literally grown with me over the years hence the ironic title. I am working on a top secret project with my chief, Jeffery the Artist. Until then I will continue to push the culture and represent my #TRiiiBE that I'm so fortunate to be a part of.
